Not American

A few days ago governor Chris Gregoire approved a tax break for all the newspapers/publications in the state of Washington. The reasoning behind this are that the new law gives newspaper printers and publishers a 40 percent cut in the state's main business tax. The discounted rate mirrors breaks given in years past to the Boeing Co. and the timber industry Newspapers across the country have resorted to layoffs and other cost-cutting moves to deal with a wounded business model and a recession-fueled drop in advertising. What about this seems wrong? If you are giving tax breaks to every company that is having a little bit of a rough times, it would be like the government making itself the countries personal bank teller. I also question who the tax cuts are being given to. It seems that all of the democrats friends receive a tax cut, while all the hard working companies, who don't want the help of the government,  get their taxes raised. The media loves the liberals for this and it seems only right then to give "them" the perfect slant toward the story they desire. Why not? Back in the old days they called that...a bribe. Why don't we call it like it is?

The administration proves once again that it only wants more government in your lives, and the need to resist becomes more prevalent. Think about the extra taxes on alcohol, cigarettes, food etc. I was reading an article at Foxnews.com and I stumbled across the phrase "taxing convenience". That is in fact what is happening here in our nation. We are taxing convenience. In reality the government is look to dip into to our cookie jars and take what is ours. We as american citizens, and patriots, should be outraged at the tax increases by the Obama administration. The Americas started a revolution over a very small tax increase, and we seem to welcome the pain of taxes, thinking that we will some how get new cars, or have a chicken in every pot . All the Obama administration plans to do is to spend and tax our way out of our national debt. They plan to try to facilitate growth when in reality they are only stifling it. This brings me to my point. Why do failing companies, such as Newspapers, get tax breaks while thriving companies, such as oil companies, get major tax increases? We punish success? Is that what we as the great country are aspire to achieve? That my friends is socialism. That is not capitalism and it certainly is not american.

In this scene your just an extra - Search the City

This is my first blog so I am just trying to get a feel for it. So I am gonna give you some of the lyrics for one of my favorite songs.....just as a test. Hope you enjoy!

The hard times are getting harder,
It's colder where you are
You would it kill me to call
I've already made you too many promises
I never meant to keep,
but that's just a side of me
I wish you never had to see
I took a shot in the dark
but I came up short
I swear to God this time it's gonna hurt

Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep
'cause you've made a liar out of me
Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep
'cause you've made a liar out of me

I watch my shadow stretch from my feet
like the way we stretch the truth
I wish I could play the victim for you
I just needed room to breathe,
my world collapsed on me
And I miss screaming off rooftops in New York City
I took a shot in the dark
but I came up short
I swear to God this time it's gonna hurt

Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep
'cause you've made a liar out of me
Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep
'cause you've made a liar out of me

This isn't my confession
but I'm coming clean
I knew it was just a matter of time
before this all would catch up with me

Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep
'cause you've made a liar out of me
Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep (sing myself to sleep)
'cause you've made a liar out of me
Can we pretend, can we pretend?
(sing myself to sleep)
Can we pretend
'cause you've made a liar out of me
Can we pretend that it never even happened?
I will sing myself to sleep
'cause you've made a liar out of me
